Chris is the creator, star, and composer of the satirical pop rock musical Darling Boy.
In 2023, the production premiered as Prince Harry: Live! At Coachella at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, where it had a sold-out extended run and quickly became an award-winning hit. Honored with both the Pick of the Fringe and Hollywood Encore! Producers’ Award, it was also nominated for Best Musical.
Thanks to its success, the show was expanded and remounted for a Hollywood run in January 2024, and a concept album was released later that year.
In addition to starring as Darling Boy, Chris wrote the music and lyrics. He also choreographed the production alongside Meg Buzza, who directed the show during its initial Fringe run. John Hill directed the remount, with a creative team that included Jonathan Conigliari (book and production design), Hannah Cairo (stage manager), and Gregory Crafts (lighting design).
Songwriting Highlights

“Freaky Frankenstein” is a high-energy dance single written, recorded, and produced by Chris.
The track reimagines Mary Shelley’s classic Frankenstein through the lens of modern pop and electronic production, blending dark disco, industrial funk, and electropop influences.
The song showcases Chris’s signature fusion of theatrical storytelling and contemporary sound design.

This dance bop about modern love and loneliness highlights Chris’s talent for turning everyday moments that most people overlook—like being asked for an emergency contact at the doctor’s office—into a witty and memorable song.
With his love for double entendres and his ability to craft vivid musical scenes with words and melody on full display, you’ll find it hard not to think of this tune next time someone asks for your . . . emergency contact.

In the universally relatable single “People Who Look Like Their Dogs,” Chris’s lyrical storytelling and keen eye for detail shine through. So does his overall approachability.
The stories he shares in the song come from real-life moments when he saw strangers in his neighborhood who resembled their pets, they noticed him, and then started conversations. Using an energetic, retro beat reminiscent of the 1980s (and one that will keep you walking, too!), listening to the song takes us to those moments when Chris walks his own dog.
It’s a song meant to make us smile but also to remind us that we have more in common than we often realize. Haven’t we all seen someone who looked just like their dog?
-
“Ugly Leather Pants,” part of Chris’s Housewifery EP, was released as a single before the full project.
Besides Chris’s skillful production, its lyrics and unforgettable melodies highlight his songwriting talent.
The song, which features memorable lines like “your attitude is predictable / you’re so ready-to-wear” and “I don’t deal with knock-offs / like my bags, I am real,” demonstrates Chris’s ability to create on-theme lyrics around a central idea, with music that supports the story.
-
A standout track from the award-winning musical Darling Boy, “Shrooms at Monica’s” was released as a single to showcase Chris’s lyrical dexterity.
The song describes a hallucinogenic story, smoothly shifting from silly to serious to convey an important part of Darling Boy’s overall character development in the musical.
Chris pulls off this tough songwriting challenge by mixing catchy pop hooks with clever writing.
-
In “The Barry’s Song,” Chris skillfully uses his signature songwriting style to craft a clever pop comedy track centered on a real-world brand.
The song highlights a nearly universal human trait—don’t we all prefer eating over exercising?—to tell a very specific and relatable story set within the world of Barry’s Bootcamp.
This track, which was not commissioned by Barry’s, serves as a prime example of Chris’s ability to turn a brand into a compelling storytelling element, showcasing a unique skill that makes him an outstanding creative partner for branded content and musical marketing collaborations.
-
Election 2020 is a song cycle Chris composed in fall 2020 that highlights his skills in a political setting and combines his characteristic sharp lyricism with his signature, balanced social commentary. Think of Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” in musical form.
Music Production Highlights
-
A collaborative project featuring singer Chetan Rao, this cover of A.R. Rahman’s classic Hindi song from the film Bombay blends Chetan’s emotive voice with Chris’s clear and lush arrangement.
As the music producer and arranger, Chris builds a sophisticated and nuanced sonic landscape, creating an authentic and respectful re-imagining of a beloved masterpiece.

While some might reasonably criticize reality TV, it’s undeniable the format has permanently changed the entertainment landscape. As such, for those who appreciate Chris as a premier observer of culture, it should come as no surprise that the genre has been one of his main muses throughout his career.
To honor the format, his first EP celebrates one of his favorite franchises: Bravo’s Real Housewives. The tracks distill over 40 songs Chris has written about Housewives into five unforgettable songs. Chris’s creative instincts, which also extend to other franchises, like 90 Day Fiance, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and The Bachelor, demonstrate his unique ability to turn pop culture into compelling music.
This project highlights Chris’s versatile production skills, with each song meticulously produced to be both polished and sonically complex.

Chris produced this powerful theme song for the critically acclaimed one-man show Boy Meets Girl by Chetan Rao and Nalini Sharma.
The production, from Boundless Theater, follows a queer Indian-American artist in New York City struggling to reconcile his identity with his cultural heritage, pursuit of love, and desire for professional recognition.
The song, which explores profound themes of self-discovery and cultural identity, showcases Chris’s talent for producing music that is both emotional and perfectly suited to a specific story.
-
A fan favorite from the award-winning musical Darling Boy, “Etiquette” was released as a single before the concept album.
The song naturally showcases Chris’s signature lyrical talent, but it works especially well because of his masterful production. From the use of robotic vocal effects that evoke the stiff, restrictive feeling of living under formal systems like the monarchy to the clarity of the beat suggesting the singer might just break free, the production quality effectively supports the overall story of the musical.
Listeners instinctively understand that the song marks a turning point not only in the musical’s plot but also in Darling Boy’s personal journey of self-discovery.
Musical Comedy Highlights
-
From January 2019 to early 2020, Chris created, hosted, and headlined The Feed with @SeriouslyChris, a monthly musical-comedy variety show in New York.
Premiering at The Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT), this live experience was a vibrant mix of Chris’s original musical comedy and characters, along with a diverse lineup of talented guest performers.
The Feed innovatively mirrored a social media page: the stage was the user interface, the performers were the posts, and the audience sat back and scrolled through a dynamic feed of talent.
Driven by Chris’s passion for building a supportive comedic community and mastering the demanding rhythm of consistent live production, the pandemic ultimately ended its run.

Chris produced, wrote, directed, staged, an starred in SeriouslyChris: A Musical Thing in New York.
It was the first of what would become many shows featuring him performing a variety of crowd-pleasing original songs.
For the show, he produced and wrote the memorable numbers “Chin-Neigh-See” (about how his family pronounces his Italian last name in American English), “Baby Boss (My Boss Is A Child)” (about his time as a male nanny), “Slow Walker” (about people who unnecessarily block pedestrian traffic on sidewalks), “Dancer Life” (for Dom Topp), “Fitspiration” (for Bryce Torseau), and “Prosecco Through A Straw” (for Elizabeth Ceighks).
The production firmly established him not only as a songwriter in his own right, but as a music producer capable of perfecting numbers for live performance.
-
Gettin’ Smart premiered on the Lower East Side in Manhattan and featured the dynamic duo of Chris and Erica Molfetto (creators, producers, and hosts) interviewing a bona fide expert to discuss and teach them about a subject they should have, or would have liked to have, learned in school.
Along the way, they used their musical, improv, and acting skills to spontaneously create songs based on the subject of the day and the expert’s insights.
There’s hardly a better way to remember something than when it’s both set to an earworm and acted out by adults pretending to be high school students.

Chris starred in, created, wrote, and produced Mannyprobz, a digital series styled as a mockumentary that was an official selection of the 2018 NYC Webfest.
It offered a hilarious, heartfelt, and often absurd look at a recent college graduate’s struggle to make a living in the big city while aspiring to become a musical theater/Broadway star.
Featuring Chris as a male nanny in New York City in the 2010s, the series skillfully blended the chaos of childcare dilemmas—from potty training battles to scrambling for immediate babysitting before urgent work demands—with the universal hurdles of early adulthood, from big ones like how to carve out a space for yourself in the world to pressing ones like how to find a restroom in public.
The series also featured Liesl, who was a toddler at the time of filming, along with special guest appearances by talents like Tony-winner Ali Stroker and Broadway’s Andrew Chappelle.
Mannyprobz remains a beloved part of Chris’s creative journey, showcasing his talent for creating relatable characters through sharp, observational comedy.

Bryce Torseau is a comedy character and satirical fitness coach created by Chris.
Inspired by the internet’s most passionate fitspiration gurus, Bryce’s core philosophy is simple: “live, give, thrive,” a signature saying delivered so that the words rhyme.
Chris brings the character to life across various platforms, including live theater shows, original comedy songs, and a digital series called Bryce Torseau’s Days of the Non-Weak, which Chris created, wrote, and stars in.
In the series, Bryce offers motivational advice and inspirational quotes for each day of the week, with gems like, “You can do it. I believe in you. Just think of it this way: there’s no such thing as a soda can’t.”
This project highlights Chris’s skill in creating a highly detailed and hilarious character across different media, blending performance with sharp comedic writing.
-
In his digital series FaceTime with Dad, Chris plays both himself and his father in a charming split-screen format that mimics a video call.
Chris shares heartfelt family stories and memorable moments he’s shared with his dad in these short, comedic vignettes.
The series highlights not only Chris’s unique talent for portraying different characters, but also how his writing skills help preserve stories for future generations.

Created by Chris and inspired by his own experiences as a performer on cruise ships, this hilarious series is best described as Summer Heights High meets The Comeback.
The show follows Domenic Topp, an eccentric Australian backup dancer who once performed for pop superstars like Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, and the Jonas Brothers, but now finds himself working aboard a cruise ship circling the Hawaiian islands.
To him, it’s a step down.
Throughout the series, he grapples with his current status: is he a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in an even bigger pond (the ocean)? Using satire and sharp insights, Chris’s writing skillfully explores the absurdities of the cruise ship entertainment industry alongside themes of self-discovery, as Dom humorously navigates life with a colorful cast of fellow performers and ship crew.
The series delivers an insightful and realistic commentary on the challenge of reconciling who you once were with who you currently are. Above all, though, it’s fun. As Dom repeatedly reassures himself, “this is dancer life.”

Elizabeth Ceighks is a richly developed comedic character created and performed by Chris.
A flamboyant British socialite aspiring to be cast on The Real Housewives of New York City, she demonstrates Chris’s talent for finding humor in society and television and turning it into fun, clever, and universally appealing monologues and songs.
Elizabeth stars in the music video “Prosecco Through a Straw” and is the main figure in RHONY Spectacular, a digital series.
For this series, Chris wrote and filmed a music video starring Elizabeth, complete with an original song, each week for every episode of RHONY Season 12.
Elizabeth showcases not only Chris’s dedication to creating highly complex characters, but also his quick turnaround times and versatile writing skills.
